Educational Outreach
The Ross Group is active in educational outreach. Exchange students and researchers from different universities, as well as local teachers and community college students, have joined our group to carry out research.
Nonreciprocal Integrated Photonic Devices [coming soon]
This course describes the principles of nonreciprocal devices such as optical isolators or circulators, and how they can be implemented in a photonic integrated circuit.
Electrical Optical and Magnetic Materials and Devices

This course explains the basis of the electrical, optical, and magnetic properties of materials including semiconductors, metals, organics and insulators, and shows how devices are built to take advantage of those properties.
Community Events
Group members engage the local community through events that introduce visitors and families to science and engineering concepts. Each year we organize the NanoObservatory, which is part of the annual Cambridge Science Festival. Visitors can learn about various microscopy techniques, microelectronics, and phenomena such as superhydrophobicity and fluorescence. More info at the links below:
